The area of a velocity-time graph gives the displacement, therefore:

ss=Area of AOCD+Area of ADB=ut+12×t×(v−u)=ut+12×t×at∵v=u+at

s=ut+1/2at^2

Explanation:

we know that

s=(u+v)/2×t

=(u+u+at)/2×t

=2u+at/2×t

=2ut+at²/2

=2it/2+at²/2

=ut+1/2at²
