show that the area of a rhombus is half the product of the lengths of its diagonals

consider rhombus as two triangles..
the area of the rhombus is the sum of the two triangles....
area of a triangle = 1/2 * base * height
area of the rhombus = 1/2 *(1/2 d1 )d2 + 1/2*(1/2 d1) d2 = 1/2 d1* d2
where d1 & d2 are the diagonal
hence proved..... :-)
