Show that the points A (4,7),B(8,4) and C(7,11) are the vertices of a right angle triangle?​

Answer:

Let the points be A, B and C respectively..

by distance formula

AB=√[(8-4)²+(4-7)²]

= 5 units

similarly,

BC= 5√2 units

AC= 5 units

AC²+BC²= 25+50

=75

and AB²=25

therefore A, B, C form a right angled triangle

forming a right angle at C

(inverse of Pythagoras theorem)
