GIVEN:

Points = A(-5,1) B(5,5) and C(10,7)

TO PROVE:

To show that the points are collinear.

SOLUTION:

A = (x1 = -5 , y1 = 1 )

B = (x2 = 5 , y2 = 5)

C = (x3 = 10, y3 = 7)

We know that the value of collinear points is 0. To show the points are collinear, we should use following formula.

=> x1(y2 - y3) + x2(y3 - y1) + x3(y1 - y2)

Now,

=> -5(5 - 7) + 5(7 - 1) + 10(1 - 5)

=> -5(-2) + 5(6) + 10(-4)

=> 10 + 30 - 40

=> 40 - 40

=> 0

Hence, the given points are collinear.
