x+1=0

x=-1

f(x)=x³+3x²+3x+1

f(-1)=(-1)³+3(-1)²+3(-1)+1

= -1+3-3+1

f(-1)=0

since, f(-1)=0

therefore,

x+1 is a factor of f(x)
