SOLUTION :

Given : x² + 6x + 9 = 0 , x = - 3 is a solution

Equation is of the form p(x) = 0 , where

p(x) =  x² + 6x + 9 ……………(1)

On putting x = - 3 in eq 1,

p(- 3)  = (-3)² + 6(- 3) + 9

= 9 - 18 + 9

= + 9 - 9

= 0

p(- 3) = 0

Hence, x = - 3 is a solution of the given equation.
