Hey.... Here is ur answer...

To study the properties of acid (HCl) by its reaction with Litmus solution (Blue/Red), Zinc metal and Solid sodium carbonate. ... HCl is an acid having pH value below 7. ... Hydrochloric acid turns blue litmus paper to red and shows no effect with red litmus solution.

The reaction between zinc and hydrochloric acid is Zn + HCl = H2 + ZnCl2. It is a single replacement reaction where zinc metal displaces the hydrogen to form hydrogen gas and zinc chloride, a salt. Zinc reacts quickly with the acid to form bubbles of hydrogen.

When acid will react with sodium carbonate, Carbon dioxide gas would be released.A salt will be formed of Sodium and anion of acid.Water will also be the product.But remember,the reaction will only take place if acid will be dillute.

HCl+Na2CO3----->NaCl+H2O+CO2

Hope that it will help you... ☺☺☺
