. Shown here are some cactus plants. These plants grow in places where there is very little water. Most of these plants have no leaves. Why are leaves absent in the cactus plant?

The leaves are there but as all the water from the leaves gets transpirated the leaves become thiner and thiner so much so that they become the thorns which we see on cactus

Cactus plants don't have leaves but instead of them they have spines which prevents the plant to perform the process of transportation or in simple words "Losing water due to evaporation" So that they don't die due to water deficiency.
