Shri Guru Angad Dev ji was the successor of Guru Nanak Dev ji. He meditated for six months in isolation and then immersed himself in spreading the ideologies of Guru Nanak Dev ji.

He simplified the written form of Punjabi language and popularised it as the Gurmukhi script. He also wrote many verses for the Guru Granth Sahib.

He made the communal meal compulsory in the Sikh temples. He also played a major role in creating temples and schools.

Thus, he made a significant role in making Sikhism an accepted faith.
