The area of a regular hexagon of side 12 cm is 374.12 cm²

It can be calculated as follows:

  • We know that a hexagon has 6 sides. Let's denote each side as a.
  • The formula for calculating the area of a hexagon is:

\frac{3\sqrt{3} }{2} a^{2}

  • As per question a = 12cm
  • Therefore,  area of hexagon =  \frac{3\sqrt{3} }{2}12^{2}

                                                        = 374.12 cm²

Area of regular hexagon is 374.11 cm².

To find : Area of a regular hexagon.

Given : Regular hexagon side is 12 cm.

Hexagon :

Hexagon is a six sided polygon.

Formula of regular hexagon :

Area of regular hexagon = \frac{3\sqrt{3} }{2} a^2

Finding area of regular hexagon :

Here, side = a = 12 cm.

Area of regular hexagon = \frac{3\sqrt{3} }{2} (12)^2

                                          = 2.5980 × 12 × 12

                                          = 374.112 cm²

Therefore, area of the regular hexagon is 374.11 cm².
