silver is very good conductor of electricity . why do you think copper is used to make electric wires .(short answer30words)​

transmit electricity, so why is it preferred for

creating electrical wires? Surpassed only by silver, copper is a highly conductive metal. This means electricity can pass through it with greater ease, making it ideal for use in electrical wires.

Though silver is a very good conductor of electricity but still that is not used in electric wiring primarily due to its cost. It's very expensive compared to the widely used wiring material copper. Another reason for not using silver is that , it oxidizes easily and tarnishes when it comes in contact with air

Silver is no doubt a very good conductor of electricity but it is not used commonly as it is very expensive.Whereas copper is used widely to make wires as it is a good conductor of electricity and is cheap also.
