It is a situation which took place before or which took place at past
Mostly complete verbs are used
Like: sung,used,drawled,studied,drew etc
Eg: I went to my grandmothers house yesterday.
Present is a situation which is still going now at present
Mostly continue verbs are used like: going,singing,dancing, eating
Eg: I’m going to my grandmothers house now
