Similarities between corrosion and rancidity are-
1. Both are the cases where oxidation is occurring.
2. Corrosion and rancidity are both Harmful effects of oxidation in our daily lives. Both the things causes loss to the useful things.
Differences between corrosion and rancidity are-
1. Corrosion is a gradual action of moisture and oxygen in air to convert iron like metals to form rust.
2. Whereas Rancidity is defined as the spoiling up of Fatty and oily foods such as chips due to oxidation and it further gives unpleasant smell and taste when kept for a long time in air.
