both civilizations flourished in similar period and shared many geographical, cultural and political elements in common.
the ancient Mesopotamian Civilization were located between the tigris and euphrates river while Harappa and Mohenjo-daro were both located in the value of Indus river. thus both civilization were highly dependent on rivers for irrigation.
both civilizations were agricultural (as opposed to hunter-gatherers)and required large groups of people to co-ordinate Complex schemes of irrigation in order to produce sufficient food .
both of the civilizations were highly urbanized,sophisticated transport and economic networks enabling them today's food in the surrounding areas in order to support wealthy cities
