3x(4x - 5) +  3

 = 12 {x}^{2}  - 15x + 3

(a) When x = 2,

12 {(2)}^{2}  - 15(2) + 3

 = 12(4) - 30 + 3

 = 48 - 30 + 3

 = 21

(b) When x = 3,

12 {(3)}^{2}  - 15(3) + 3

 = 12(9) - 45 + 3

 = 108 - 45 + 3

 = 66

3x(4x−5)+3=12x^2−15x+3

x=3 gives the value 12(9)−15×3+3

                             =108−45+3

                              =66
