( {2}^{ - 7} \div {2}^{ - 9} ) \times {2}^{ - 4} \\ = {2}^{ - 7 - ( - 9)} \times {2}^{ - 4} \\ = {2}^{ - 7 + 9} \times {2}^{ - 4} \\ = {2}^{2} \times {2}^{ - 4} \\ = {2}^{2 - 4} \\ = {2}^{ - 2} \\ = { (\frac{1}{2}) }^{2}

Userfriendly: i have a doubt
Userfriendly: instead of 1 by 2 wholesquare 2 can we write 1 by 2 power 2
Userfriendly: why must there be a bracket at last
shanujindal48p68s3s: Ya you can do that but only because 1 raised to power anything is 1 only. But if there is anything else in place of 1, then you got to put the whole bracket....

2 raised to the power -7 can be written as 1/128.
2 raised to the power -9 can be written as 1/512.
1/128÷1/512 = 1/128×512 = 4
4×2raised to -4 is 4×1/16 = 1/4

Userfriendly: both are right even I got the same answer but the answer in the bookback is 1 by 2 the whole power 2
