Simplify each of the following algebraic expressions by removing grouping symbols.

a) -2(x2 – y2 + xy) – 3(x2 +y2 – xy)

b) 7. a – [b – {a – (b – 1) + 3a}]​

a) -2(x2-y2 +xy) -3(x2+y2-xy)

= -4x +4y -2xy -6x -6y +3xy

=-10x -2y -xy

b)a -[b -{ a -(b -1) +3a}]

= a-[b-{a- b +1)+ 3a}]

=a -[b -a +b - 1 +3a ]

= a -b + a - b+ 1 -3a

= -a - 2b + 1
