Given: expression (3/2) of (4/7) {(10 × 3) – (8 × 2)}

To Find: (3/2) of (4/7) {(10 × 3) – (8 × 2)} = ?

Solution:

  • BODMAS implies Bracket, of, Division, Multiplication, Addition, Subtraction.
  • ∴ This series should be followed to simplify the expression.
  1. First, the brackets should be opened: to open the bracket multiplication should be followed by subtraction.

= (3/2) of (4/7) { (30) - (16)}   (Multiplication)

= (3/2) of (4/7) {30 - 16}   (Subtraction)

    2.Second, solve for of:

= (3/2) of (4/7) × 14      (solving for of)

= 3/2 × 4/7 × 14

=3/2 × 4/1 × 2 ( 7 × 2 = 14 hence, cancelled)

=3/1 × 2/1 × 2 ( 2 × 2 = 4 hence, cancelled)

=3 × 2 ×  2

=12
