(a - b)^2 = a^2 + b^2 -2ab


(2 - √3)^2

(2)^2 + (√3)^2 - 2(2×√3)

4 + 3 - 4√3

7 - 4√3

we \: know \: that \: ( {x - y)}^{2}  =  {x}^{2}  +  {y}^{2}  - 2xy \\  =  {2}^{2}  +  ({ \sqrt{3} )}^{2}  - 2 \times 2 \times  \sqrt{3}  \\  = 4 + 3 - 4 \sqrt{3}  \\  = 7 - 4 \sqrt{3}
