Answer:

x=2    y=2

Step-by-step explanation:

2x+y=6       y=6-2x----(1)                            y=6-2(2)=6-4=2

4x-2y=4

from 1      4x-2(6-2x)=4

4x-12+4x=4

8x=16

x=16/8=2

elimination method

(2x+y)2=(6)2      4x+2y=12

4x-2y=4

=> 4x+4x+2y-2y=12+4

8x=16

x=16/8

x=2

y=6-2(2)=6-4=2

hope it helps

Answer :-

  • Value of x = 2
  • Value of y = 2

Given :-

  • Two equations 2x + y = 6 and 4x - 2y = 4.

To Find :-

  • Values of x and y.

Solution :-

★ We'll solve this by by substitution method.

  • 2x + y = 6 ...i)
  • 4x - 2y = 4 ...ii)

Solve eq i)

⇒ 2x + y = 6

⇒ 2x = 6 - y

⇒ x = (6 - y)/2

Put the value of x in eq ii)

⇒ 4x - 2y = 4

⇒ 4{(6 - y)/2} - 2y = 4

⇒ 2 (6 - y) - 2y = 4

⇒ 12 - 2y - 2y = 4

⇒ 12 - 4 = 4y

⇒ 8 = 4y

⇒ y = 8/4

⇒ y = 2

Put the value of y in eq i)

⇒ 2x + y = 6

⇒ 2x + 2 = 6

⇒ 2x = 6 - 2

⇒ 2x = 4

⇒ x = 4/2

⇒ x = 2
