Answer
2x/a + y/b = 2
Or, (2bx + ay) /ab = 2
Or, 2bx + ay = 2ab............ (1)
And, x/a - y/b = 4
Or, (bx - ay) /ab = 4
Or, bx - ay = 4ab ...............(2)
From (1) and (2), we get
2bx + ay = 2ab
bx - ay = 4ab
_______________
3bx = 6ab
Or, bx = 2ab
Or, x = 2a
Now, 2a/a - y/b = 4
Or, 2b - y = 4b
Or, y = 2b - 4b = - 2b
Therefore,
x = 2a and y = - 2b
Thanks..
