simultaneous equation:
2x/a+y/b=2

x/a-y/b=4
How do i solve this?​

Answer

2x/a + y/b = 2

Or, (2bx + ay) /ab = 2

Or, 2bx + ay = 2ab............ (1)

And, x/a - y/b = 4

Or, (bx - ay) /ab = 4

Or, bx - ay = 4ab ...............(2)

From (1) and (2), we get

2bx + ay = 2ab

bx - ay = 4ab

_______________

3bx = 6ab

Or, bx = 2ab

Or, x = 2a

Now, 2a/a - y/b = 4

Or, 2b - y = 4b

Or, y = 2b - 4b = - 2b

Therefore,

x = 2a and y = - 2b
