let the number be x and y
=>Two numbers differ by 3
=>y = x - 3.......[1]
=>The sum of twice the smaller numberand thrice the greater number is 19
here the smaller ones is y and bigger is x as [x = y+3]
=>so lets form an euqtaion
=>2y +3x = 19......................[2]
now lets substitue [1] in [2]
=>2y +3x = 19
=> 2(x - 3) +3x = 19
=>2x -6 +3x = 19
=>5x - 6 = 19
=>5x = 19+6
=>5x = 25
=>x= 25/5
=>x= 5
x is 5
since y = x -3
=>5 - 3
=>2
∴∴the two numbers are 5 and 2
