Given:

Ratio of gold and silver = r1 = 2:1,

Ratio = r2 = 3:5

Ratio = r3 = 7: 5

To Find:

The ratio of gold and silver in new  coins

Solution:

Let the weight of each coin be = x gms.

Therefore, the quantity of gold and silver in one coin = 2/3x and x/3

Similarly, the quantity of gold and silver in other two coins = 6/8x and 10/8 x

Quantity of gold and silver in three coins = 21/12x and 15/12x

Therefore, In new coins the quantity of gold and silver

= 2x/3 + 6x/8 + 21x/12 and

= x/3 + 10x/8 + 15x/12

= 38x/12 and 34x/12

Thus, ratio of gold and silver in new coins

= 38x/12 : 34x/12

= 19:17

Answer: The ratio of gold and silver in new  coins is 19:17
