according to the question,

volume of 6 cubes = volume of 1 cuboid

{6 a^3 = lbh}

6 × 6 × 6 × 6 = l × 8 × 12

\boxed{l = 13.5 cm}

27/2 cm

step-by-step explanation:

Let the edge length of cube be 'a'

.°. a = 6 cm ( given)

Now,

let the length ,breadth and height of the Cuboid be 'l' , 'b' , and 'h' respectively.

then,

b = 12 cm

h = 8 cm

Now,

A.T.Q

Six such cubes are melted to form a Cuboid

=> Volume of all six cubes = Volume of Cuboid

Now,

we know that,

volume of a cube = {a}^{3}

and,

Volume of Cuboid = lbh

therefore,

=> 6{a}^{3} = lbh

=> 6 × {6}^{3} = 12 × 8 × l

=> l = ( 216 × 6)/(12 × 8)

=> l = 27/2

Hence,

length = 27/2 cm
