The six qualities of Birbal includes:

1. He was the only Hindu who worked as the adviser in the court of the Mughal emperor Akbar.

2. He was one of the nine jewels (called Navratna) in the court of Akbar the great.  

3. He had a great sense of humor, therefore was able to impress the emperor his smartness and intelligence.

4. Birbal adopted the religion Din-i Ilahi founded by Akbar.

5. He was designated as the royal poet and singer by Akbar.

6. His military preferences can be seen in the fact that he died fighting the war against Afghans.
