Six substracted from a number is equal to one-fourth of the sum of the numver and 45.find the number

Let the number be x
x-6 = 1/4(x+45)
4(x-6)= x+45
4x-24= x+45
4x-x= 45+24
3x= 69
x= 69/3
x=23
