then 96 kg hay consume by 20 horses in  = 96 / 24 = 4 days

answer is 4 days.according to the question 16 horses eat 96 kg's in 5 days while 20 horses eat 96 kg's in X days. so to solve for x we form the equation                 16 x 96 x 5 = 20 x 96 x X. solving the equation gives you                                           X=16 x 96 x 5 / 20 x 96 x X. now after simplifying X will equal to 4.
