The main reason behind writing this is that these liquids are not true solutions. They are non-homogenous mixtures so the larger particles settle down if kept at rest for a long time. This is bad because, without mixing you'll get a clear liquid on pouring which is deprived of many medicinal values and the heavy particles don't come out as they rest at the base of the bottle.A light shake uniformly distrubutes these heavy particles throughout the liquid and makes it fit for consumption.
