Synovial joint -

  • A joint between two bones with a cartilage & fluid filled cavity in between is called a synovial joint.
  • It is freely movable joint & hence known as diarthrosis joint.

It is characterized by

  • hyaline cartilage
  • joint cavity
  • synovial fluid
  • articular capsule
  • reinforcing ligaments

# Examples of synovial joint -

  1. Shoulder jt
  2. Knee jt
  3. Elbow jt
  4. Hip jt
