Sketch the region enclosed by y = sinx, y = cosx and X-axis in the interval [0, π].

step 1 :- draw graph of function sinx between 0 to π. see attached figure, here first figure is graph of sinx .

step 2 :- draw graph of function cosx between 0 to π. see attached figure , here 2nd figure is graph of cosx.

step 3 : now show the region enclosed by graph sinx , cosx and x - axis. in attachment, shaded region is required answer.

y=cosx.......(2)



First we have to find point of intersection of (1) (2).

using (1) in (2)

sinx=cosx

tanx=tan\frac{\pi}{4}\\x=n\pi+\frac{\pi}{4}\\

x=\frac{\pi}{4}

So both the curves intersect at  x=\frac{\pi}{4}  the given interval.
