Monocot stem is generally present in the plants in which seeds have single cotyledon whereas dicot stem is generally present in the plants in which seeds have two cotyledons.

Explanation:

Following is the differentiation between monocot and dicot stem:-

Monocot Stem:- 1. It has scattered vascular bundles.

                             2. The cambium is absent .

                             3. The oil cavities are present.

                             4. Hypodermis is made of sclerenchymatous tissue.

                            5. Multicellular stem hair is present.

                            6. Medullary rays are absent.

Dicot Stem:- 1. The vascular bundles are arranged in concentric rings

                       2. The cambium is present.

                        3.No oil cavities are present.

                       4. Hypodermis is made of collenchymatous tissue.

                       5. No stem hair is present.

                      6. Medullary rays are present between two adjacent vascular

                         bundles.
