 \huge \sf \pmb{m = \frac{\text{rise}}{\text{run}} = \frac{y_2 - y_1}{x_2 - x_1}}

  • m = slope
  • (x_1, y_1) =coordinates of first point in the line
  • (x_2, y_2)=coordinates of second point in the line

What About y = mx + b ? You may already be familiar with the "y=mx+b" form (called the slope-intercept form of the equation of a line). It is the same equation, in a different form! The "b" value (called the Y-intercept is where the line crosses the y-axis.)
