i ) 217 x + 131 y = 913                             ----- ( 1 )

And

131 x + 217 y = 827                                 ----- ( 2 )

Now we multiply by 217 in equation 1 and by 131 in equation 2 , We get

47089 x  + 28427 y  = 198121                 ----- ( 3 )

And

17161 x  + 28427 y  = 108337                 ----- ( 4 )

Now we subtract equation 4 from equation 3 and get

29928 x  = 89784

x  = 8978429928

x  = 3  , Substitute that value in equation 1 , we get

217 ( 3 ) + 131 y  = 913

651 + 131 y  = 913

131 y  = 262

y  = 262131

y  =  2

So,

x  =  3 and y  =  2

22adi52003: u could have solved it by first adding subtracting and adding method
22adi52003: instead of multiplyong and complicating the linear eqns
22adi52003: *multiplying
Anonymous: yes this is lengthy method but good attempt !
