With our activities we are molding our reality, and subsequently the sort of life we are living. Diverse activities bring distinctive outcomes: a demonstration of outrage will bring scorn and savagery, a demonstration of kindness will bring adoration and sympathy.

I trust that everybody feels that, when we are benevolent, regardless of how little our demonstrations of kindness are, we encounter thoughtfulness returning to us from the entire presence.

When we are caring, we feel our spirit opening, extending and grasping the world. In this condition of being, we feel changed, and in addition that we can help change the world. By performing demonstrations of consideration, we impact others to be thoughtful as well, and this creates a perpetual chain of impacts, a hover of kindness.

There was an old man. He was very poor. He did not have anyone to look after him. He lived in a small space at the corner of the road. During the day he used to sit by the side of the road. People would give him some money or food and walk away. He was very sad. Sometimes he would not eat anything. So he became weak and fell sick.

A small girl used to go to school and see this old man sitting near the road every day. She was very kind. She used to feel very sad for him. One day she noticed that the old man was not there. She asked the people nearby and came to know that he was ill and was staying at the corner of the road.

She went home and told her parents about him. Her parents were also very compassionate. They all went to see the old man. They gave him food and clothes. They told him that they will come to see him every day. The old man was filled with joy. He felt that there were people who loved him. This gave him hope. He was able to recover quickly. He started living a happy and healthy life. In this way, the kindness shown by the girl and her parents changed his life.
