The least possible 4 digit number is 1000
LCM of (24, 30, 40) = 120
The quotient of 1000/120 is 8 i.e; (120*8=960)
now the next divisible number will be (120*9 = 1080)
Now, add the required remainder to the number i.e; 1080+7 = 1087 is the smallest 4 digit number which when divided by 24, 30 and 40 leaves a remainder 7 in each case.
