The smog levels increases majorly during the winter time in Delhi region.
The arrival of north westerly winds (which carries lot of dust) and the moist winds of northeast, lack velocity and make a “chamber” without room for ventilation resulting in smog.
It is not one factor which is held responsible but it’s a combination effect of few factors.
Some are listed below:
1. Excessive vehicular air pollution.
2. Combination effect by the Burning burning of fuels by farmers, cooking, power plants and construction sites.
3. Industrial pollution is yet another factor.
4. Cutting down trees
5. Bursting of crackers
