Sneha has 8 metre of ribbon. she wants to cut it into two pieces such that the length of one piece is 4m longer than the other. find the length of the other

Given - Toal length of ribbon is 18m.
One piece is 4m longer than other.
Let smaller piece be x and bigger be x+4

A.T.Q,
x + x + 4 = 18m
=> 2x + 4 = 18m
=> 2x = 14m [ substracting 4 on both sides ]
=> x = 14/2
=> x = 7m

x + 4 = 7 + 4 = 11m

Hence,the lengths are 7m and 11m.
