‘So blot their maps with slums as big as doom’ means the slums all around the elementary school for the slum children are so much real and ever-nagging that they eclipse the world map, Shakespeare's portrait, and the scenery of Tyrol. The poet actually is appealing to people and Government authorities to do something more for the slum children than just opening a school with donations.

The poet protests against the disparity between the two worlds. He wants that poor should also enjoy social equality and justice. The 'map' should have blots of slums as big as doom. The gap must be reduced between the two worlds...
