My dear friend wish you all a very good morning.
Today I have received an opportunity to express my view on social media. Is it a boon or a nuisance?
Well to begin with, social media are websites and applications that facilitate users to generate and share contents or to participate in social networking. The contact of social media has become gargantuan in today’s modern world. It is really difficult to find a handful of teenagers who are estranged from this media. It has engulfed a gigantic part of the society. However, the major part that is getting affected by this media is the youth society. As every coin has two sides in the same ways social media has both good and bad sides. We must cling to anything as if it is fully perfect.
Millions of people are into social media now a day. Different forms of social media like mobile, Internet forum, blogs, micro blogs, socials networking sites and content communities like YouTube, are in active use. Today people are sharing information, creating new friend circle via social media. Not only does it impart education but also wipe out the term loneliness from life. A few years back also this was impossible. Social networking is immensely popular among teenagers. They meet the old friends and make new one. However, this is also adversely affecting the society. People are becoming so much obsessed in these virtual societies that they are sometime forgetting to be social in real society. This obsession sometime affects their lifestyle and their thought process. They are even knowingly or unknowingly getting involved into crime. They are delving deep into these problems day by day. There are many fake societies which provide unauthentic information, but people are taking them as reality. Much erroneous information is provided regarding education too. All these are sometime creating complete bewilderment in the society.
If social media is used in proper and purposeful way, then it can be really a boon for us. However, if misused it would be like providing fire in the hands of a child.
Thank you
