Turner and Killian were the first scientists to use the term collective behaviour in the context of sociology. But the very first time, this term of "Collective behaviour" was coined by Franklin Henry Giddings in the year 1908.

Collective behaviour means the usage of a common behaviour by individuals in a collective manner like in mob, groups, etc. And sociology is the study of collective behaviour as sociology studies people in a group and not as an individual.
