Hence pure sodium cannot be obtain from the sodium oxide. For example, iron is less reactive than carbon therefore it has lower affinity for oxygen at higher temperature. Hence it is easily obtain in pure form. Whereas similar reaction is not possible for sodium due to its higher affinity towards oxygen
