By using an organic solvent CCl4 and H2O2 .H2O2 acts as an oxidising agent and oxidises iodide and bromide to Br and I.When CCl4 is added from a coloured layer is formed at the junction of two liquids sbrown from Br and Violet for I.If its a mix of Br and I addition of Cl water dissolves the I leaving behind Br.And Cl shows no coloration with this setup.
