 { (\sqrt{6}) } \: ^{x - 2}  =  \frac{  { \sqrt{6} }^{x}  }{6}  = 1

Thus from the above relation, we get;

 { \sqrt{6} }^{x}  = 6 \\  =  > x = 2

HOPE I COULD HELP !!!

sanju298: didn't understand how?
antareepray2: The whole setup has been arranged according to the laws of exponents....
antareepray2: We know, x^y ÷ x^z = x^ (y-z)
antareepray2: The same thing is applied here....
antareepray2: Then after rearranging, we get that root 6 ^2 =6
antareepray2: Thus x=2
