Solve: 2x+ 3y=-4, x-5y-11=0​

Answer:

2x+ 3y=-4 .......................i)

x-5y-11=0 ......................ii)

ii) equation can also be written as x - 5y = 11.

The value of x from second equation :-

x = 11 + 5y

Now substitute the value in the equation i)

2x + 3y = -4

2 (11 + 5y) + 3y = -4

22 + 10y + 3y = -4

22 + 13y = -4

13y = -4 -22

13y = -26

y = -26 / 13

y = -2.

Find the value of x.

2x + 3y = -4

2x + 3 (-2) = -4

2x -6 = -4

2x = 2

x = 1.
