2x+3y=7 first equation

x+y=4 second equation

multiplying second equation with 2 we get

2x+2y=8 third equation

Now subtracting third equation from first we get

y=-1

putting value of y in first equation we get

x=5

2x+3y=7 .....(i)

x+y =4 ....(ii)

Multiply the equation (ii) by 2, we get

2x+2y = 8 ...(iii)

2x+3y = 7 ...(i)

Subtracting equation (i) from equation (iii), we get

-y = 1

y = -1

Substitute the value of y = -1 in equation (ii), we get

x-1=4

x=5
