by elemination method

2x+y=-4

x+y=-1

x=-3

substitute x=-3 in eq

2(-3)+y=-4

-6+y=-4

y=-4+6

y=2

there fore x=-3 and y= 2

x+y= -1 be equation 2

Now

subtracting equation 2 from 1

2x+y= -4

placing x = -3 in equ 2

x + y = -1

-3 + y = -1

y = -1 +3

y = 2
