3u-2v=0 and 2u + 5v=19

these can be written as

6u-4v=0 and 6u +15v=57

subtracting second equation by the first,

we get

19v=57

∴v=3

∴y=1/3

∴u=2

∴x=1/2

since y=ax+3

∴a=y-3/x

    =(1/3 -3)/1/2

    =-16/3
