3/x + 2/y = 6 and,

2/x - 3/y = 9

Let,

1/x = a and,

1/y = b

now the equations look like

3a + 2b = 6 and,

2a - 3b = 9

to solve it we have to make coefficient of either a or b equal

so let take b

3a + 2b = 6 --------×3

2a - 3b = 9 ---------×2

9a + 6b = 18 ------eq1

4a - 6b = 18 ------eq2

--------------------

13a - 0 = 36

13a = 36

a = 36/13

put it in either eq1 or 2

9a + 6b = 18

9(36/13) + 6b = 18

6b = 18 - 324/13

6b = (235 - 324)/13

b = -89/78

1/x = a

x = 13/36

1/y = b

y = -78/89
