Given:

We have given two equations of algebra  3x - 4y = 10 and 5x - 3y = 24.

To Find:

We have to simplify the equation?

Step-by-step explanation:

  • We have given two equations which are  3x - 4y = 10 and 5x - 3y = 24.
  • We will simplify the above equation by substitution method.
  • First of all we will consider onw equation which is  3x - 4y =10
  • We will find the value of x in terms of y from the above equation

       3x-4y=10\\3x=10+4y\\x=\frac{10+4y}{3}

  • Now we will put that value of x in the other equation we will get

       5x-3y=24\\5(\frac{10+4y}{3} )-3y=24

  • Now we will simplify the above equation by opening the brackets which will give

      \frac{50+20y}{3} -3y=24

  • Now we take the L.C.M of the above equation and simplify it

       \frac{50+20y-9y}{3} =24

  • Now do the cross multiplication in the numerator terms and simplify it

       50+11y =72

  • Now take the 50 to the right-hand side and simplify it

       11y=72-50\\11y=22\\y=2

  • Hence, we get the value of y is 2, now put it in the other equation we will get

       3x-4y=10\\3x-4(2)=10\\3x=10+8\\x=\frac{18}{3}=6

Hence  we get the value of x is 6 and value of y is 2.
