4^(x-2)=2^(x+1)
2^2 (x-2)=2^(x+1)
2x-4=x+1
2x-x=1+4
x=5
... ......here is your ans

Hey dear !!

Here is yr answer...

 =  >  {4}^{x - 2}  -  {2}^{x + 1}  = 0 \\  \\  =  > ( {2}^{2} )^{x - 2}  =  {2}^{x + 1}  \\  \\  =  >  { 2}^{2(x - 2)}  =  {2}^{x + 1}  \\  \\  =  >  {2}^{2x - 4}  = 2^{x + 1}  \\  \\ here \: bases \: are \: equal \: so \: the \: powers \: must \: be \: equal \\  \\ =  >  2x - 4 = x + 1 \\  \\  =  > 2x - x = 1 + 4 \\  \\  =  > x = 5

Therefore, value of x = 5

Hope it hlpz....
